Slovenian Presidency of the EU 2008 - CCP meeting

Informal meeting of European Cultural Contact Points: Ljubljana and Maribor, 11–14 June 2008

Closed CCP sessions: Further information only available for CCP representatives.

Cultural Contact Point Slovenia (SCCA, Center for Contemporary Arts–Ljubljana) is organising a traditional meeting of representatives of the European Cultural Contact Points, i.e. the network of national information offices for the EU Culture Programme (2007–2013).

Meeting of the European Cultural Contact Points is organised twice per year. The meeting, hosted by the CCP resident in the EU presidency country, gathers CCP representatives from 33 countries taking part in the Programme. Additionally, the European Commission (DG EAC) and the Executive Agency (EACEA) officials, representatives of the national Ministry of Culture and cultural operators are invited to take part in specific sessions of the meeting.

The main topics of the meeting are related to the implementation of the Culture Programme, more specifically to improvements of CCP services provided for cultural operators (e.g. promoting the Programme, facilitating the participation of cultural professionals by providing assistance and technical support, ensuring dissemination and exchange of information related to cultural and other Community programmes etc.).

Moreover, each CCP meeting deals with a special theme. In the light of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 (EYID), the CCP meeting in Slovenia will focus on intercultural dialogue between the EU and South East Europe (SEE). On practical level, the meeting will be structured around the topic of fostering the networking and information flow between different arts and culture stakeholders in the EU and SEE region. The CCP meeting will consist of two parts both linked to the topic of networking – public conference entitled Re-network! and closed CCP sessions.

The meeting of European Cultural Contact Points (CCP Meeting) taking place in Ljubljana and Maribor from June 11 to 14 2008 is one of the official events within the Slovene EU Presidency cultural programme. The meeting is organized by SCCA, Centre for Contemporary Arts–Ljubljana in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the European Commission (DG EAC), Kibla – Association for Culture and Education and other partners.
